At its 21st edition, the festival comes with a format through which the selection of over two hours of short films is screened almost simultaneously in the participating countries: Canada, Chile, China, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, France, Greece, India , Ireland, Italy, Martinique, Netherlands, New Caledonia, Panama, Peru, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Togo, Turkey. Romania is the country with the most cities participating in the festival, and these will be: Baia Mare, Brasov, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Dej, Iasi, Miercurea Ciuc, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Oradea, Pitesti, Rasnov, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Suceava, Targu Mures, Timisoara, Zalau.

The selection of films is very diverse, from animations to documentaries or fiction films, from high-quality films to those shot by phone. The only condition is that no film should be longer than 4 minutes.

The festival is divided into sections such as international competition, where over 40 films compete for the grand award, and national competition, Around the Très Courts Romania. The films in the national competition are as follows:

The third competition section is Paroles de femmes, where the audience can watch short productions that celebrate female characters everywhere.

On the occasion of the France Romania Season celebration, this year’s edition hosts a selection of 20 French short films, and children (“from 6 to 106 years old”) can enjoy the most inventive (and short) animation films, in the Family Selection section.

Besides the usual awards given in the international and national competition, the International Francophonic Organization will give a special award to a Romanian film that promotes the French language or addresses topics related to diversity, human rights, social issues; also in the Paroles de femmes competition the Women’s Rights Award will be granted.

Très Court International Short Film Festival will be held between June 7th-16th, 2019 in 19 cities in Romania and in 22 countries around the world.
