ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival – About the 17th edition
The ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival will take place this year between August 12-16, in Sfantu Gheorghe, the Danube Delta. The event will be held outdoors, under the required safety conditions, with a maximum of 400 spectators per screening. Access to the screenings is free, and the public will be able to reserve their seats starting with August 11, on eventbook.ro.
“Right from the moment the pandemic started it was quite clear that the online option wouldn’t be a proper one for our festival, since its very essence lies in having the public in such a place like the Danube Delta, in giving them the opportunity to meet the filmmakers and start discussions that carry on throughout the night, in creating this connection between hundreds (this year) of people who attend the outdoor screenings. ANONIMUL will look completely different this year, that’s for sure, but we have this rendezvous every August and we cannot give up on it now, unless we are forced to do so by the authorities, should the measures be adopted until the starting date of the Festival.” (Miruna Berescu, festival director)
The festival program includes two short film competitions, national and international, feature film screenings, sessions of Q&A and public debates with the guests.
Non-competitive programs:
International Panorama – feature films awarded in film festivals that year, homages, retrospectives.
The Actors behind Camera section.
The Romanian OFF section featuring screenings of Romanian recent feature and short films.
Special screenings on ecology & global issues.
As every year, the audience will award the following by vote: Best Feature and ANONIMUL Trophy, Best International Short, Best Romanian Short and the Ovidiu Bose Pastina Award, offered by the Anonimul Foundation.
The feature film competition includes 6 films selected by Ludmila Cvikova (artistic director of the international feature film competition).
