CEE Animation Workshop 2022 – Call for projects
Submissions for the 2022 edition of the CEE Animation Workshop are still open. The 1-year programme is aimed at professionals in the field of animation from all member states participating in the Creative Europe MEDIA programme (more details can be found here). The workshop focuses mainly on producers and projects from countries with low production capacity.
The workshop is open to producers with animated projects of any format in development: short film, feature-length film, TV series, TV special, documentary or fiction, hybrid projects (must contain at least 50% animation), or XR projects (narrative and using animation), but also to a limited number of producers without projects seeking to build a long-term strategy for their company.
The 2022 edition of the CEE Animation Workshop will consist of 4 modules: three of them will be held online (in February, April, November), and one will be on-site, in Poland (in August).
The programme is intended for teams made up of a producer and a screenwriter with an animated project at any stage of development. In special cases, an additional member, such as the director or art director, can join the team and access part of the program.
During the Workshop, participants will work on their projects under the guidance of the invited tutors, focusing on the script, visuals and production package development. They will also have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in areas such as animation production management, financing and budgeting, legal aspects, marketing and festival strategies. Moreover, they will develop and advance their pitching skills, as well as attend meetings with acclaimed professionals, which will contribute to their network of future partners.
Among the participants who attended the CEE Animation Workshop in the past are Helga Fodorean (producer) and Matei Branea (director), with their film Grandpa is Sleeping.
The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2021. Those who wish to apply can do so here. There is no registration fee for submitting an application. The results will be announced by the end of December.
CEE Animation Workshop offers a limited number of scholarships that cover part of the participation fee. For more details, visit the CEE Animation website.
