18 March, 2019

Monday, March 25th, at POINT, you are invited to the Student Hub Masterclass How films reach the audience. What is the meaning of PR and marketing in film distribution? What is the distribution route of a film and how do you manage to reach a large audience? At what stage in the development of the film begins the work of a communication professional and what is his relationship with the rest of the crew?

All these questions and many more will be answered by Cătălin Anchidin, a member of the European Film Academy and the PR manager of over 50 successful film productions and TV series, such as Child’s Pose (Golden Bear Winner, Berlinale, 2013) , Aferim! (Silver Bear for Best Director – Berlinale 2015), Back Home, Sieranevada, Scarred Hearts, Tarzan’s Testicles, Soldiers. Story From Ferentari, One Step Behind the Seraphim, The Distance Between Me and Me, etc. but also international films such as PINA (nominated for Best Documentary –  Academy Awards 2012) or Toni Erdmann (Fipresci Award at Cannes 2016, nominated for Best Foreign Film – Academy Awards 2017). Since 2017, he manages ROLLERCOASTER PR, along with Ilinca Belciu.

Participants are expected at 18.30, and the masterclass will be held from 19.00 to 21.00. We will then have an hour for chatting & drinks as an opportunity to meet each other and share ideas.
