THE STAIRCASE: interview with Michael Stuhlbarg
If you haven’t heard about it already, The Staircase is HBOMax’s newest (and best, we would say) true crime series. Based on real life events, it meticulously reconstructs the murder of Kathleen Peterson (played by Toni Collette) who was found by her husband, Michael Peterson (Colin Firth), in a pool of blood at the bottom of the staircase in her home. Her husband, who called the ambulance, says she was still alive when he found her, and probably slipped on the stairs after drinking some wine. He becomes the main suspect in her case, which still remains a mistery.
