Before the Revolution: A Retrospective of Italian Political Cinema

A retrospective of Italian political cinema organised by the Ceau, Cinema! festival brings back the socio-political energy of the 1960s: from cases of systemic corruption to portraits of fascinating individuals, the films of the era – a Molotov cocktail of popular entertainment and sharp social critique – openly call for an impending revolt, or else reflect a deep sense of frustration with no clear way forward.
